We’re a first-generation ranch family of six from Livermore, Colorado.

we’re Farming for the future.

We prioritize the health of our soil, water, air, and animals on 5,600 acres of land in the Northern Rockies. From healthy rotational grazing practices to low-till farming practices, we believe every aspect of ranching should meet today’s environmental standards.

We strive to achieve a healthy ecosystem for our cattle and, in turn, a high-quality product for our customers that is free of antibiotics, growth hormones, and is truly grass-fed and grass-finished.

We have the stars to show it.

We’re enrolled in two soil health programs to fulfill our promise to the land. The Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Saving Tomorrow's Agricultural Resources (STAR) program is a practice-based rating system that adheres to the five principles of soil health: Soil Armor, Plant Diversity, Continual Live Plant/Root, and Livestock Integration, and Minimizing Soil Disturbance.

We’re proud to take part in this program and have received a 3, 4, and 5-star rating for implementing several soil health principles on fields on our operation.

Healthy soil = happy cows

We’re also involved in the Citizen Science Soil Health Project. This program is a grower-driven project that uses the collective knowledge of diverse growers to find local solutions to the Front Range’s soil health implementation conundrum. Through annual meetings and classes, the project creates a collaborative environment where growers can share information and knowledge.

At Lehi ranch, we grow hay, corn, alfalfa, and wheat, and improve our soil with irrigation, interseeding cover crops, diverse plantings, crop rotation, and integrating livestock into rotations. We’ve received the 2022 Soiley Award for most attempts and success with interseeding cover crops into pasture.

So how do we do it?
